Misty Saturday

Its a colder foggy day at the ranch, we are horsing around, some have gone on a trail ride, but...there is always plenty to do, we will be taking our horses over to the ranch about 10:30, going on a ride, later in the afternoon hopefully we can get some of the others worked...please join us tonight for BBQ hamburgers its pot luck on the other food...so come on by and enjoy the evening with us. Lenore is still feeling under the weather, she still has her Cough that she cant kick...does anybody have a good solution, she has to get better before she goes crazy! Please send your remedies...

Ranch Events and other stuff

Events and events…

Planning is what we have been doing for the last few days. We have plenty to do to get ready for Operation Free Ride.

Big news, we did postpone the Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza, until next Easter of course…too close to get all the details worked out, HOWEVER, WE ARE STILL RIDING, so if you want to come on out on April 7th, I am sure that being Saturday, that an afternoon ride and BBQ will be in the works. Besides, the next morning, we all get to hunt for eggs from the Easter Bunny…I hope I get lots.

Okay where was I, oh yeah upcoming events:

We have ranch clean up days, several between now and OPERATION FREE RIDE, and we need all the volunteers we can get, bring any garden tools you have, this is also a student volunteer program that are Presidential Service Award Certified (thanks to Operation Cuppa Joe) go to our website for more details and to register to let us know you are coming.

We have Play Days coming – Barrel Racing, Poles, trail course, and training in all of these events  prior to the play days. The 8, 9, 10 Ride to Win program from Horse 4 Heroes is part of that great training.

Summer Camps are getting scheduled, we have 4 at this point, watch for more details and dates.

 Still have all the Mommy and Me programs and the Intro classes, Discovery 1,

On another note: Lenore is still feeling under the weather, she took ill (the flu) late last week, didn’t come out of the ranch house for three days, and even now, she can’t reprimand the Horses when she is working them (she has no voice…LOL) anyways, we are all wishing her the best and wishing her a speedy recovery.

We are looking for volunteers to help at the ranch as we get ready for and the day of, Operation Free Ride – That day we will need good, extremely tame horses to provide walk along rides to the Military families and their friends. (All Ages) we also need volunteers to help patrol for safety. There will be so much going on if you are interested and would like to volunteer please let us know by going to our website registration, or get a hold of us.

Well, good for now, like I said work, work, work…off to work I go, and to the ranch later today to let Galen train me…ha, ha…

Another Rainy Day

So its another rainy day here at the Ranch, the roads are slick, doesn't look like we'll get much from the arena, for a few days, It rained incredibly hard last night a few times...its not actually raining at this moment, but the ground is soft and the puddles are present. The round pen is workable, so with the new sand, anyone who would like to exercise their horses have that as an option. Lenore has no lessons today, she has been going and going these last few weeks, New people just keep showing up, and others are starting to take lessons again, I have a video from one of Lenore's students, its priceless...his name is Connor, he is right on the edge of autistic, he remembers everything, and absolutely loves his lessons horse, Coby, in the video, he is trotting Bareback, and you can see the excitement in his face and hear it in his voice...

Later today - girls want to go shopping. Talking like they want to go to Norco...since it's not the best riding weather, out on the town we go, grab a bite to eat and continue on our journey. Maybe we go to Polly's or Grandma's we haven't been there in a while.

Rainy Weekend

Well this RAINY DAY gives us all a chance to catch up on the inside the house stuff...as you can see I created a blog for the ranch...feel free to use this all the time. I will post to it about the happenings at the ranch, at least when I am there...

TODAY - we are canceling all the daily activities - the Colt Clinic, way to cold, rainy and windy to sit and watch, so Cowboy gets a few days to think about everything we are doing...he is coming along great, you can see the videos on our website www.endofthetrailranch.net

Later today we were supposed to go on a St. Patrick's Day Trail ride, this is also cancelled. as well as the potluck, its very hard to BBQ in this weather. (darn rain)
